About Still Got Game
Still Got Game was launched in 2019 by a group of charitable minded former professional athletes and business leaders. At its launch, the SGGF Board of Directors included Mike Buckius (Chief Investment Officer Gateway Investment Advisers, LLC); Ken Griffey, Jr. (Baseball Hall of Famer & 22-year MLB veteran); LaTroy Hawkins (21-year MLB veteran ranked 10th on all-time games pitched list); Torii Hunter (5-time MLB All-Star and 19-year MLB veteran); Kenny Lofton (6-time MLB All-Star and 17-year MLB veteran); Ben Posen (Co-founder Lindbrook Capital LLC) and Stephen Solaka (Co-founder Belmont Capital Group). Since its launch, the SGGF board has expanded to include Brendan Miller (Thorofare Capital) and Drew Stubbs (9-year MLB veteran).
The SGGF Board tabbed respected non-profit professional, Melissa Persaud as its Executive Director. Persaud, a Princeton University and Fordham Law School graduate, previously served as the director of the Major League Baseball Players Trust, the 501 c 3 foundation created and administered by active Major Leaguers. Persaud held that role from 2000- 2018, and under her direction the nonprofit grew into an internationally renowned charitable organization that served as the collective social impact program of all active Major Leaguers.
This nascent 501 c 3 not-for-profit organization was created to bring together former professional athletes and like-minded charitable individuals to exchange ideas, provide resources, volunteer, and develop and promote programming that supports social change for a more just, sustainable, and educated world.
